The signal
Freightliner Ltd, the UK's largest maritime container logistics operator, has unveiled a new corporate logo aligned with its parent company CMA CGM Group following the January 2026 acquisition. The rebranding, completed by October 30, marks the formal integration of the intermodal business into the global logistics conglomerate while maintaining Freightliner's identity as a standalone service provider.
This transition represents the latest chapter in the company's ownership history, which includes a 1996 privatization from British Rail, subsequent acquisitions by Arcapita and Genesee & Wyoming, and eventual separation as a standalone entity in 2024 before joining CMA CGM. The acquisition required removal of all Genesee & Wyoming branding by December 31, structuring the transition as part of broader industry consolidation.
CMA CGM, operating in 160+ countries with 700+ ships and 160,000 staff, brings significant global scale and expertise to Freightliner's established UK intermodal operations, positioning the business for expanded capacity and service offerings within an integrated maritime and rail network.
