The signal

SC Ports successfully processed the first containerized equipment shipment for Isuzu North America's upcoming South Carolina manufacturing facility, routing cargo from the Port of Charleston via rail to Inland Port Greer. This milestone demonstrates the operational readiness of Inland Port Greer following a $55 million expansion that added 9,000 feet of rail infrastructure and increased annual capacity to 300,000 rail lifts.

Isuzu's facility selection was partly driven by the reliable Charleston-Greer rail connection, and the company plans to begin N-Series and F-Series truck production in 2027. The inland port's 355% growth over its first decade, combined with SC Ports' 10% share of U.S. containerized automotive cargo, reflects growing reliance on this supply chain corridor for automotive manufacturing investments in the Southeast.
