The signal
Mahindra Logistics Limited delivered robust financial results in Q2 FY27, with consolidated revenue climbing 24 percent year-on-year to ₹2,095 crore and profit after tax surging 3.5 times to ₹26.2 crore. The company achieved this through improved execution, disciplined cost management and a strategic focus on profitable rather than volume-driven growth. EBITDA expanded 46 percent with margins expanding by 90 basis points to 5.9 percent.
The results reflect a balanced portfolio approach, with Contract Logistics growing 28 percent year-on-year on higher volumes from key customers including Mahindra & Mahindra's automotive division. The company's Express business, MESPL, achieved its first EBITDA-positive quarter since acquisition through improved pricing, higher volumes and sharper unit economics, while Mobility grew 33 percent on new B2B customer additions. Last Mile Delivery also improved materially, with EBITDA jumping from ₹0.4 crore to ₹1.6 crore year-on-year.
For supply chain professionals, these results signal that Indian third-party logistics providers can achieve sustainable profitability through operational discipline and customer-centric service delivery. The turnaround in Express and Last Mile segments demonstrates that underperforming business units can recover through focused execution and unit economics discipline, a lesson relevant for broader supply chain transformation initiatives.
